Esmeraldas ECUADOR 75% Dark Chocolate
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Esmeraldas province of Ecuador is not where most people would look for fine flavor cacao — the region has historically been associated with bulk production, not craft. Costa Esmeraldas is a family-owned single estate that has spent years proving otherwise, reclaiming land once cleared for cattle pasture and establishing cacao cultivation rooted in environmental stewardship rather than extraction. The Salazar family brings decades of expertise in land remediation to the work, and it shows in the chocolate — smooth, warm, and quietly complex.
What we taste –
mocha, turbinado sugar, floral honeyIngredients & Allergens
Cocoa Beans, Unrefined Cane Sugar*, Cocoa Butter*
*Organic
Made in a facility that handles tree nuts, wheat, milk, eggs and peanuts. May not be suitable for people with allergies to these foods.
Craft Notes
The Salazars also operate Fundación Salazar, an independent non-profit committed to creating lasting benefits for communities near resource extraction operations — a mission that reflects the same ethic driving the farm itself. Costa Esmeraldas controls the full estate process from tree to dried bean, which gives the chocolate a consistency and clarity uncommon for the region. At 75%, this bar is approachable and round, with notes of mocha, turbinado sugar, and floral honey that make it one of the more immediately likable origins we carry.

Because our products are perishable, we cannot accept returns. If your order arrives in less than ideal condition or something is not as expected, please contact us and we will review your concern with care.
Traceable and responsible ingredients
We believe that establishing a sustainable and traceable supply chain should be a baseline standard for any business, but especially when working in an industry that is still wrought with human rights abuses and corruption. We are dedicated to driving positive change through responsible purchasing, and through establishing long term relationships with our producer-partners.
