Kokoa Kamili TANZANIA 77% Dark Chocolate
Couldn't load pickup availability
Kokoa Kamili operates a central fermentary in the Kilombero Valley of Tanzania, working with nearly 3,000 smallholder farms in a region that has historically received some of the lowest cacao prices in the country. By purchasing wet cacao directly from farmers and controlling fermentation and drying themselves, Kokoa Kamili pays a significant premium above market rate while producing a more consistent, traceable product. The chocolate that comes from this origin is bright and fruit-forward in a way that feels almost tropical — layered, sweet, and surprisingly complex for a 77% dark.

Craft Notes
Kokoa Kamili was founded by Brian LoBue and Simran Bindra with a model built around the centralized fermentary — an approach that reduces workload for farmers, improves fermentation consistency, and allows for the kind of quality control that produces fine flavor cacao reliably rather than occasionally. The Kilombero Valley's climate and the care taken in post-harvest processing account for the brightness and clarity of this bar's flavor profile. At 77%, it reads lighter than its percentage suggests.

Traceable and responsible ingredients
We believe that establishing a sustainable and traceable supply chain should be a baseline standard for any business, but especially when working in an industry that is still wrought with human rights abuses and corruption.
